Our Achievements

Since 1999, AHAM has awarded $272,300 in scholarships to 119 Hispanic students in the Upstate of South Carolina. The awardees attend colleges , universities, or technical colleges around the country and its territories.

AHAM received its first Upstate Diversity Leadership award in the International Category from the Riley Institute at Furman University.

This award recognizes “organizations and individuals for their accomplishments in improving diversity in the Upstate.”

In 2009 a national poll recognized AHAM as one of the Top 10 Latina’s Organizations.

Many have been the achievements and recognitions that our very own AHAM members received in 2008-2010. These were given for theamazing labor of love put into volunteering their time, efforts, and talents year after year. Organizations such as YMCA (DreamAchievers), Women Making History, the Greenville County HumanRelations Commission and Talk Magazine’s The 25 Must BeautifulWomen have recognized several AHAM members.
